(j.g.) in the Waves during World War II has been assigned to Rhine Military Post as a recreational director with European Comand Special Services. She is Miss., Phyllis Weight, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest G. Weight of 434 East Fourth South Street, Springville. Miss. Weight, who was graduated in 1943 fro Brigham Young University, joined the Navy that year and served until 1946 when she was honorably discharged. Special Services operates 106 clubs for enlisted personnel in the European Command. In connection with its recreational activities it also maintains 79 craft shqps and 101 photographic laboratories. Other services provided by the division include the production of plays and soldier shows, the sponsorship of zone-wide gcatuitions tours by stage, screen and radio celebrities, the operation of 186 libraries throughout the Command and an overall competitive athletic program. |
