When he was informed of what had taken place at the well, and saw the beautiful ring, and the bracelets that had been pre-' pre-' sentrd to his sister, he went out to meet the man, and to learn niore about the interview. He seemed to be favorably impressed, and invited the servant and his company to come and share the hospitality of the house. The in- vitation was cheerfully accepted. After the animals had been pro-! pro-! vided for, a meal was set before the guests, but the servant refused re-fused to eat, until he had delivered deliv-ered his message. He was told to i proceed. He then said: "I am the '' servant of Abraham, and the Lord i has greatly blessed my master; he ; has become great; he has been ; blessed with flocks and herds, silver sil-ver and gold, men servants and maid servants, camels and asses My master has a son, to whom he has given all that he possesses and the time has arrived when thii son should have a wife. (Isaac ; was forty years old) 1jut my mas-L mas-L ter will not that he shall have ! any of the daughters of the Cana-anites, Cana-anites, among whm he lives; but ; should have one from the land of his kindred. The servant then related what had taken place at the well, and said that the Lord had shown him that Rebekah was the chosen one. Bethuel, the father of Rebekah and Laban, her brother, acknow- " ledged the hand of the Lord in what was said, and gave their consent, that the girl should go and become the wife of Isaac. But in the morning, the mother and ; Laban asked that the girl be allowed al-lowed to remain for ten days, but the servant objected and wanted her along. It was decided to leave the question to the girl. She was then summoned to appear, and when she did, was asked; "Will you go with this man?" She answered, an-swered, "I'll go." They then blessed bless-ed Rebekah and she bid farewell to her home and kindred, and with her maid attendant followed follow-ed the servant into a strange land to meet a man whom she had never known. And as they came .. near .to Abraham's estate, at even-. tide, Isaac came across the fields 1 toward the caravan. When Rebekah Rebe-kah saw him, she said to the servant, ser-vant, "who is that man coming to meet us?" The servant said, "it is my master." She then according ac-cording to custom covered her face with a veil, and met Isaac, who escorted her into his mother Sarah's tent, where they were married, and lived together for many years.
