A "Scav- enger Hunt" furnished pleasant amusement and a dainty lunch was served to Mrs. Minerva Weight and Mrs. Thelma Boyer of the presidency; Mrs. Mary Weight, stake board member: Miss Leora Peterson, teacher, and ; the following class members: Gene L'llock, Erma Singleton, Mil- ! ot Chids, Alice Baker, Fern Ost- lei-, Lois Singleton, Ruth Witney, j Marjorie Pierce, and Hcrnice I Jensen. i Dr. and Mrs. P. M. Kelley of St. Anthony, Idaho, spent the past week here with relatives and friends. Mrs. Emma Long and two children chil-dren spent last week with relatives rela-tives and friends at Helper. The deacons of the L. D. S. Fourth ward enjoyed a swim at Ro-She resort Wednesday afternoon. after-noon. They 'ater assembled at the home of Leo Robertson for n "watermelon feast." Members of the Ira and Susan Luciua Clark Sanford, will meet in a family reunion Thursday, August 16, at the home of Charles I. Sanford. MO east Eighth South street. All are asked to bring picnic lunch. A business meeting meet-ing will be held at 10 a. m. Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Packard entertained at a well-arranged dinner at their home one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Packard and children Calvin and Glida Ann, Mrs. Alton Packard' and son Milan of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Mrs. Hattie Blackett. Members of the Legion auxiliary auxil-iary were entertained at the regular reg-ular monthly meeting Wednesday night, at Memorial hall with twenty-six ladies in attendance. Mrs. Flora Maiben, Mrs. Rebecca Fullmer Full-mer and Mrs. Mabel Brown were hostesses. Reports on the year's activities were given by the treasurer, treas-urer, Mrs. Bell Sumsion, and by the historian, Mrs. Hazel Hafen. A nicely arranged program was given with Roe Thorn furnishing a vocal solo, accompanied at the piano by Pauline Clyde, Lois Brown and Gene Ullock, trumpet duet; Coba Caffel, reading. After the program a discussion of plans for the state convention at Logan; were made. , A tasty luncheon concluded con-cluded the meeting. President J. F. Wingate and Wayne Smith of the local Kiwanis , club attended the Utah-Idaho dis- , trict convention of Kiwanis at ' Idaho Falls last. week. The Fourth ward Relief society ' members held an outing at Kelleys Grove in Hobble Creek canyon, Friday afternoon. A large crowd enjoyed the program after which a sumptous picnic luncheon was served. Mrs. Thelma Clark and children arrived home the past week from Kingsman, Ariz., where they have spent the summer. The Book of Mormon class of the Second ward Sunday school under the leapership of Miss Nell 1 Caff ell and Miss Marion Miner enjoyed en-joyed an outing at Vivian park, Provo canyon Wednesday. A delightful de-lightful time was spent swimming hiking and with picnic lunch. Sixteen Six-teen girls, their teachers, and Golden Anderson, chauifeau, made up the party. A talk by Edward Boyer on his visit in 1930 to the "Passion Play" at Oberammegau, featured a meeting meet-ing of the Second ward Gleaner girls at the home of Miss Mary Boyer. Mr. Boyer also exhibited a number of pictures relative to his talk and displayed the Dutch costume. Miss Pearl Strong entertained with piano accord ian music and Mrs. Mary S. Boyer and Miss Helen Clark gave piano selections. In keeping with the general theme of the meeting-dainty meeting-dainty refreshments were served and miniature Dutch dolls were given " as favors. About thirty class members and guests attended. attend-ed. The L. D. S. Third ward Sunday Sun-day school officers and teachers and partners enjoyed an outing at Geneva resort Wednesday night. Picnic lunch, bathing, were enjoyed by all. |
