Show Special Session Considered For Deer Creek Plan The question) of whether a special spe-cial session of the state legislature will be called to clear the way for. the Deer Creek reclamation project, proj-ect, will be discussed Friday after-, noon at a special committee meeting meet-ing called by Governor Henry H. Blood. The committee met Tuesday and discussed the problem pro and con. It was formed for the purpose pur-pose of determining whether municipalities can subscribe to Deer Creek water without formation forma-tion of a metropolitan water dis-trict.' dis-trict.' Salt Lake City has expressed willingness to make a large sub-scrintinn sub-scrintinn for Deer Creek water provided it has asurance that it can hold the water for future needs without putting it immediately immedi-ately to beneficial use. If the leeal committee finds creation of the district necessary for Deer Creek's construction, and if sufficient support is found for the proposed law, it is expected Governor Blood will be requested to call a special session of the legislature. Attending the meeting Tuesday were: Deputy Attorney General John D. Rice, City Attorney Fisher Fish-er Harris, County Attornev Harold E. Wallace, Chairman W. R. Wail-ace Wail-ace of the state water storage commission, and C. C. Parsons, counsel for the Deer Creek project proj-ect committee. |
