Show MRS. C. A. BOYER CELEBRATES 80 BIRTHDAY Mrs. Colista A. Boyer, well-known well-known resident of this community celebrated her eightieth birthday Friday with a surprise social given by her children at her home, Fourth East and Center streets. Approximately 30 relatives attended the party and numerous friends and neighbors called during dur-ing the day to extend facilitations. Mrsl Boyer was born here August 10, 1854. Her parents, Stephen and Annie N. Hulet Perry, were among the first Springville settlers, arriving here in 1850 .Her father was well known for the manufacturing of chairs. She has lived here always, and as a young girl learned the pioneer arts of spinning yarn and knitting. knit-ting. She taught in the early schools of this community. She was a counselor in the first Retrenchment Retrench-ment society and secretary-treasurer secretary-treasurer of the Relief society for many years. In the latter organization organi-zation she spent much time visiting visit-ing and caring for the sick, a special work assigned to the early Relief socities. She was married in the L. D. S. Endowment house April 8, 1875. Mr. Boyer died in 1908. She is the mother of ten children, child-ren, most of whom with their families attended the birthday party. The children are: Mrs. Joseph Anderson .Philip O., W. P. and Angus Boyer, Salt Lake; John E. J3oyer, Sacramento, Calif.; Lewis Boyer, St. Louis, Mo. There also are 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. |
