The work will cover a period of about three months and will include oiling of approximately 4.5 miles of roadway on the more traveled streets of plot "A" district, dis-trict, it is stated. About $8,000 will be spent for labor, and the work will be under the direction of Supervisor Harvey Hutchinson of the city streets department. de-partment. The proposed improvement, in the opinion of city officials and leading citizens, will be a big step forward in making the city more attractive, more healthful, and a better place in which to live. . The low water supply of recent years, has made the sprinkling of city streets impossible, with the result that dust conditions on the more traveled roads has become almost unbearable. To all property owners in the oiling district as well as motorists, the road improvement im-provement will be a welcomed project, it is slated. |
