Show , Artists Receive JO; 1 Invitation To s Exhibit Paintings f I: : (y Although the opening of the Springville high school annual national art exhibit is more than 't a month away, responses from invitations sent to prominent art-i.sts art-i.sts throughout the United States J indicate the exhibit will be more outstanding both in quality and J number ol entries, than any other previous exhibit. Plans are to conduct the ex- St5. h'bit as usual during the month jj of April, at the high school art ntjc huilding. 5': From between 200 and 300 invitations in-vitations sent to artists and art galleries throughout the country, replies have already been receiv-jp. receiv-jp. ed to assure at this early date, Or- more than 200 fine paintings for ;. 1 this year's show. Communications have been received re-ceived stating that the McBeth. ck Vose, Gatterdam, Carnegie Hall ' ! and Chicago galleries will each ty. be represented with a group of I. pictures in this, year's exhibit. In addition to these, at least three more . nationally known galleries d. I which have not previously ex-, ex-, V hihited pictures here, have indi-; indi-; cated their intentions of sending paintings. Wayne Johnson, high scnool art supervisor and member of the le I ait committee, is in receipt of a letter from Walt Disney, one of - whose pictures has just been placed in the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York, stating : U that he plans to send two or .nil three Snow White paintings to id : the Springville exhibit. Mr. Disney's Dis-ney's letter praises highly the V Springville high school art proj-fr: proj-fr: ect. His pictures are expected to alk: be a highlight of attraction in ft the 1939 show.
