Show DUCK SEASON OPENS OCT. 22 IN UTAH AREA WASHINGTON. Aug. 15 W.1! The Bioligical Survey today ordered or-dered a 45-day Suck hunting season sea-son for 1939, for the second consecutive con-secutive year, and postponed the season opening in 27 states. The Biological Survey issued regulations governing the hunting of waterfowl and field birds throughout the United States in" accordance with the migratory bird treaty with Canada and Mexico. Mexi-co. The duck hunting season will begin Oct. 1 in Maine, Michigan,. Minnesota, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont and Wisconsin. It will begin three weeks later in the intermediate zone, which includes in-cludes California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. The bureau postponed the hunting hunt-ing season on mourning doves from Sept. 1 to Sept. 15, as move to protect nestlings. The postpone-1 postpone-1 ment is effective in Arkansas, and parts of Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Mis-sissippi, South Carolina, Delaware and Texas. The season opens Sept. 1 in Arizona, California, Idaho Ida-ho and Nevada, lasting through Nov. 15. The survey reduced the daily bag limit on geese from 5 to 1, and the possession limit on geese from 10 to 8. The daily bag limit on ducks is 10 and the possession limit 20. When any daily limit includes canvas back, red head, buffalo head and ruddy, not more than 3 of any one, or more than 3 in the aggregate of these types may be taken. . t |
