Show HYRUM B. PERRY HONORED ON 80 BIRTHDAY MAPLETON In honor of Hyrum B. Perry, prominent in civic and church affairs of this community, a celebration marking mark-ing his eightieth birthday was held Tuesday afternoon at Maple canyon, with approximately 300 triends and relatives in attend- i ance. John I. T Holley, son-in-law, I had the affair in charge. ! A program of music and read- I ings, ball games and other sports were concluded with the serving of refreshments. Mr. Perry was born in Springvilie, Spring-vilie, a .son of Stephen C. and Mary Bogga Perry. He moved to Maplcton in 1885, residing here since. He was chairman of the old folks' committee 18 years and was one of the first school trustees from the Mapleton district. dis-trict. During his early life he did considerable railroad construe- tion work. He has filled two L.D.S. mis-' sions, one In 1909, and another in 1938. During his later year.-i he has farmed ami, despite his advanced age, does considerable work. His wife, Mrs. Luella R. Perry, whom he married March 13, .1884, died three years ago. He has a daughter, Mrs. Reva Curtis Cur-tis of Nep'rii; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. |
