Show York university and private vocal work from Professor Edgar Schofield of New York City. Miss Bertha Bearnson, Leacher at the Washington school last year, has accepted a call to go to the North Central States mission. She left Salt Lake City for Minneapolis, Minne-apolis, July 9. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Earl of Washington, D. C, have returned to their home after a visit with Mrs. Earl's mother, Mrs. Lena Maycock and family and other relatives and friends here. Members of the First ward 4-H club under the direction of Mrs. Margaret Wing were entertained at her home Wednesday afternoon. Sewing and instructions on the year's work featured the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Reynolds and Mr. and Mrs. J. Y. Bearnson recently returned from a delight- I lul trip to the Wayne Wonderland. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Ostler of Los Angeles, Calif., have spent the past two weeks with relatives and friends in Springville. Mr. and Mrs. John Miner of Bakcrsfield. Calif., spent the past few days with Mrs. Miner's parents, par-ents, Mr. anu Mrs. J. E. Hawkins and family and other relatives here, in Spanish Fork and Provo. Miss Helen Palfrcyman of this city lias just returned from a special spe-cial music school at the U. S. A. Under direction of President Bell Sumsion members of the Legion auxiliary held an interesting interest-ing program at Memorial hall, Wednesday night. Miss Elaine Brockbank gave readings; Mrs. Gertrude Clements, readings; Miss Evelyn Miner and Wayne Keddle, guitar duets; vocal solos, Jackie Evans; vocal selections, Russell and Harold Hales. The unit during dur-ing the evening voted to purchase chairs as their annual gift toward helping to furnish Memorial hall. Officers for the year were elected and refreshments were served in conclusion by Hostesses Lela Nelson, Nel-son, Inez Chadcr and Eva Nielson. Miss Lena Barlow of this city ; spent the past two weeks on a ! vacation trip with relatives and friends in California. Members of the S. T. club were delightfully entertained Thursday night at the borne of Mrs. Hazel Harrison. High score prize for the evening's games of bridge were won by Mrs. Bertrude Sumsion. Sum-sion. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess in conclusion to twelve members and guests, the latter including Mrs. Phila Finley and Mrs. Vera Perham. Mrs. Lena Maycock and daughters daugh-ters Cecelia and Naomi and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Earl of Washington Washing-ton returned recently from a several sev-eral days visit with relatives and friends at Overton, Nevada. Mrs. J. W. Grant accompanied by her daughter Dama and friends, Elaine Brockbank,, Phylis Smart, Beth Loveridge, left the latter part of the week on a ten days vacation trip to Yellowstone National, park. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rose of Los Angeles, former residents of this city, Mr. Rose having been athletic coach at the high school for some time, arc guests this week of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Win-gate.
