Camp News : One hundred cnrollees, the army staff and forestry personnel person-nel of Hobble Creek CCC camp were guests of the Utah Power and Light company in an inspection inspec-tion of the new steam plant nov( being constructed at the mouth of Provo canyon. Wednesday evening. eve-ning. The construction superintendent, superin-tendent, Verne Clawson and his aids gave a very thorough demonstration demon-stration as to the efficiency of the . new plant and the boys left with an entirely new slant on the power situation. After having gone from the bottom bot-tom to the top of the buildings, Mr. Clawson was host to the "gang" in giving them an ice cream bust which is always dear I and near to a CCC boy's heart, that Is, his love for ice cream. ! All in all, it was the most successful success-ful excursion that has been taken - and the boys are ready to em-hark em-hark any time for another trip to the new plant. The first fire of the 1936 season was put under control by 10 of the boys in Rock canyon Monday I evening. Klngsley Thatcher, for-9 for-9 ester in charge of the group laid I the blame on careless campers. h The dance scheduled to be held In the Memorial hall in Spring- ville, Friday night has had to be Postponed until a later date due to conditions which will have to lie put under control this week end. The boys are quite desirous of having the dance as soon as possible and it is quite likely that It will be held about the 7th of August. |
