Show jEYSTON AWAITS I RECORD TRIALS BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS, Utah, Oct. 27 (U.R Captain George E. T. Eyston today awaited favorable favor-able weather for a speed test on the salt flats tracks. The captain was undecided whether to attempt a 12-hour endurance en-durance record in the "Speed of the Winds," or to try for a measured meas-ured mile record in the huge "Thunderbolt" seven and one half ton racing car. Only nine miles of the 13-mile straightaway to be used for the measured mile run were dry. Each end of the track was covered with water from recent rain. Only one of the three circular endurance run tracks was in condition for use, and mechanics believed that its surface would crumble after a few hours of high speed driving. |
