Citizens are Urged To Vote November 2; Voting Places Named Considerable interest in the coming city election was evident at the various places of registration registra-tion Tuesday, as a large number of citizens called to inquire if their names were registered or to register anew. Tuesday was the last day of registration before the city election on November 2. The polls will be open from 7 a. m.. to 7 p. m.. and everyone is urged to cast his vote during the day. Three tickets the Independent, the Citizen's and the Social-Democratic, are in the race. Sponsors of each claim a majority of the citizen's votes and a close count is expected in several cases. The Independent ticket includes in-cludes A. O. Thorn for mayor; H. T. Reynolds Jr., for 4-year councilman; David Friel. Ed Johnson John-son and Emil Ostland for 2-year councilman; Wilham Bringhurst for city recorder and Mrs. Eliza Russell for city treasurer. The Citizens' candidates are W. W. Clyde for mayor; Selvoy J. Boyer for 4-year councilman; Dr. John R. Anderson, Maurice Bird and Claude E. Eggertsen, 2-ycar councilmen; Harry Pennington, city recorder and Mrs. Eva M. Crandall for city treasurer. Social-Democratic. Andrew Porter Por-ter for mayor; Hans Rigtrup for 4-year councilman; Will Worthen. Dell Conover and George Gab-bitis, Gab-bitis, 2-year councilmen; Charles Clements, city recorder. A candidate can-didate for treasurer on the ticket was not listed. The voting places for the various vari-ous districts are as follows: District Dis-trict No. 1, First ward chapel; District 2, Beardall Barber Shop; District 3, Third Ward Relief Sn, ciety hall: District 4. at the Millie Sutherland residence; District 5, Frankie Averett residence. It is pointed out that regardless regard-less of where or how the names of 2-year councilmen appear on the ballot, your vote may be cast for any three. |
