Show ERASTUS THORN SERVICES HELD Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Wednesday afternoon at the Third ward chapel for Erastus G. Thorn, well known resident of this city, who died unexpectedly at his home Sunday. Mr. Thorn suffered a stroke about a your ago but was apparently recovering, ijc was able to bo up town two or three days before his death. He was born in Springville, October Oct-ober 21, 1807, a son of Richard and Harriet Glines Thorn, lie has always lived here, and taken an interest in the development oi this community. He served as mail messenger in this city from 1894 to 1026. He was manager of the Thorn livery stable for many years, later fol'- j lowing the occupation of farming. j In recent years he has been an-sociated an-sociated with the Thorn Transfer company. He was married to Alice A, i Avery December M, IMMl), She died in 11)26. Surviving are two sun.s, Vein E. Thorn, Springville; H;irl C, Thorn, Mint, Michigan; ii grandchildren. |
