Show SOCIETY NEVS the last week for an indefinite stay at Denver, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. John Dougall and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Robison enjoyed en-joyed a motor trip to Fairview canyon, thence to Huntington and Price and return -Sunday. They report re-port that vegetation in canyons of that viciniy shows little signs of lack of water . Mrs. Paul Thorn was hostess to the La Conda club members at her home Tuesday afternoon. Bridge was the diversion of the, party with high score prize going go-ing to Mrs. Hannah Callister and the second favor to Mrs. Helen Leyshon. Luncheon was served by the hostess to ten club members mem-bers and Mrs. Viola Smith, Mrs. Marjuric Bird and Mrs. Frank Crammer, special guests. Eliza Jane Sanford, daughter of Mr. and Mrsk Frank Sanford of Richfield, Idaho, is visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Eliza Thorn in this city. Nearly a hundred friends anti relatives attended the trouseau; tea given by Miss Helen Fox at her home Sunday afernoon. Miss Mary Boyer and Mrs. Gladys Boyer Boy-er assisted the hostess in serving Many Beautiful pieces of handiwork handi-work were exhibited. Miss Georgia Harmer and Miss Josephine Reynolds of this city with Dean and Mrs. LeRoy Cowels of the University of Utah, left this! trip, hey plan to go to New York trip, hey plan o go to New York by way of the southern states and return by way of Canada, and the Northern states. On the return trip they will spend some time at Niagara Falls, Deroit, Mich., the World's fair at Chicago, and other places of interest in the east and middle-west. Complimentary to Miss Maurino Fullmer a bride of this week, a j number of friends including Mrs. Leona Wilson, Mrs. Ethele Anderson, An-derson, Miss Virginia Collins, Mrs. Louise Allred and Mrs. Wanda Peay gave a shower Monday evening even-ing at the home of Miss Fullmer s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Fullmer. Full-mer. The time was spent with games concluded with a dainty lunch and the presentation of the many lovely bridal gifts. Guest? included, Clarice Hardy, Edna Kennedy, Mildred Cates, Pearl Strong, Nora Hutchings, Floss Huntington, Mae Taylor, Leona Ctegg, Marie Oegg, Wanda Stewart, Stew-art, Donna Collins, Ruth Whitney, Margaret Pierce, Virginia Dallin, Esther Laney, Wanda Wilson, Mae and Maxine Mortensen and Mrs. Alex Mortensen of Provo, and Mrs. Fullmer. Ranger and Mrs. S. H. Ollerton attended the party Friday evening even-ing at Emery. It was sponsored by the two cattle associations of tha communiy, in honor of Ranger Ran-ger Dave Williams who has been in the forest service for 31 years, and-is now retiring under the pension pen-sion law. All officers of the Manti National Forest were present and gave Mr. Williams a writing desk as a token of respect. A banquet was served to 250 people and the rest of the evening was spent in dancing. They also visited with Ranker and Mrs. Morill" Anderson of Orangeville and Ranger and Mrs. Lee Young of Huntington. Miss Helen Fox, popular bride-elect, bride-elect, was the motif for a delightful delight-ful shower given Monday evening by the Second ward Y. L. M. I. A. at the home of Mrs. Mae Fletcher. An attratcive centerpiece of sweet peas centered the dining tables, while baskets of summer flowers also were used tnrougnout the entertaining rooms. A number of clever games arranged by Jessie Jes-sie Dalton, together with a dainty luncheon were enjoyed by all and the honored guest was the recep-ient recep-ient of many lovely gifts. Boyer, Miss Marie Simkins, Miss Virginia Vir-ginia Simkins, Mrs. Hazel Harrison, Harri-son, Mrs. Blanch Beal, Miss Nell Caffel, Miss Vesta Boyer, Mrs. Gladys Boyer, Miss Helen Axeman, Axe-man, Mrs. Fay Nelson, Mrs. Bertha Ber-tha Flygare, Miss Margaret Fox, Miss Helen Fox and Mrs. Fletcher. Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Boyer entertained en-tertained with vocal and instrumental instru-mental music during the evening. Mrs. Paul Thorn returned Monday Mon-day from several days visit with her husband at Mill City, Nevada. Miss Melba Roylance, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Roylance, left recently for San Francisco, Calif., to assume her new work at the Bank of America there. Mrs. Ruby Clark and two children child-ren of Chicago and Mrs. J. N. Dorius of Salt Lake, were guests Sunday of Dr. and Mrs. Nelson Beal. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Taylor of this city announce the engagement of their daughter, Mae, to Allen Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. P. Larson of Spanish Fork. The marriage mar-riage will take place June 27. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Goldsworthy of California were the guests Monday of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hatfield. They also visited Mrs. Mary Z. Hatfield during their stay here. They left Monday evening eve-ning for a trip to Yellowstone park. Mr. and Mrs. Hatfield accompanying ac-companying them to Salt Lake. Mr. Goldsworthy is a friend of Mr. Hatfield, whom he met while at the veteran's hospital in California. Cali-fornia. Members of the Ava Delma club were guests Wednesday night of Mrs. Viola Smith. Twelve members mem-bers were in attendance also Mrs. Violet Ludlow, Mrs. Ethel Ander-of Ander-of Spanish Fork, Mrs. Mercedes Anderson, Mrs. Hannah Callister and Mrs. Ann Haymond as guests. Bringhurst and children of Salt Lake and Mrs. Eliza Thorn were dinner euests Friday evening of Mrs. Frank Bringhurst. Mrs. Harold Finch at Laramie, Wyoming. I Announcement is made of the marriage of Hugh A. Roylance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Roylance Roy-lance of this city, to Miss Rova Olsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olsen of Spanish Fork, which tok place Tuesday in the I Salt Lake temple. ! Miss Olsen has been the motif ! for a number of parties at Spanish Fork, among which was a shower given at the home of her mother, Thursday night, at which Mrs. Roylance, Mrs. Retta Kclley ot this city, and Miss Veda Roylance who is visiting here from Rex-' burg, Idaho, were guests.
