Show CARNEGIE TO BE HONORED BY LIBRARY . In commemoration of the one-hundredth one-hundredth anniversary of the birth of Andrew Carnegie, the Springville Spring-ville public library, which is a beneficiary of the Carnegie library fund ,is sponsoring a city-wde observance of the benefactor'! birthday Monday, November 25, Miss Louis Rowland, librarian states. Throughout the week, special programs will be given in the high school and grade schools, and also at public gatherings. Posters drawing attention of citizens to the birthday anniversary observance, observ-ance, will be placed in the public library and other public places. A picture of Andrew Carnegie also has been received by Miss Rowland, Row-land, and will be hung permanently permanent-ly in the library, she states. A number of new books also wil be on display in the children's department de-partment at the beginning of the week, in observance of Mr. Car-negie'ss Car-negie'ss birthday anniversary. The Springville library is one among numerous other librariei which will join in the observance of Mr. Carnegie's anniversary Before his death, he is said to have contributed about $65,000,000 to build, endow or equip public libraries. About 3,000 of these institutions are located in the United States and Canada anc 1,900 other English speaking countries. |
