Complimentary to Miss Melpha Binks, a nicely arranged bridal shower was given Sunday afternoon after-noon at tiie home of Miss Nelda Johnson, with the Misses Louise Russell, and Cleon Fox assisting hostesses. The modeling of wax brides and progressive "Amos and Andy'' furnished unique and pleasant entertainment during the afternoon. A variety of lovely love-ly gifts were received by the guest of honor. Concluding the party a dainty lunch was served to approximately 25 guests. D. S. temple and also through Glacier National park. They were gone about two weeks. Members of the S. T. club will begin their regular meetings following fol-lowing a few weeks' recess, with a party on Wednesday, September Septem-ber 6, at the home of Mrs. Harry Har-ry Pennington. Complimentary to Mrs. Wilford Olsen, formerly Miss lone Pal-freyman, Pal-freyman, who with her husband and children, have been visiting here, Mrs. Mary J. Finley and her daughters Mae and Bess Finley, Fin-ley, entertained at a chicken dinner din-ner at their home Friday afternoon. after-noon. Guests included Mrs. Rena Roylance, Miss Lucy Roylance, Mrs. Mary Schwartz, Mrs. Helen Crandall, Mrs. Frling R03dan.ce, Mrs. Lydia Palfrey man, Mrs. Afton 'Palfreyman, Mrs. Eva Hanson, Mrs. Thelma Harmer, Mrs. Louise Harmer of Payson; Mrs. Minnie Groesbeck, and Mrs. Olsen. Hannah Rowland, Mrs. Mary Smart, Mrs. Martha Harrison, and Mrs. Faye Hansen, former Gleaner teachers. Assisting" the hostess were Miss Edith Teas-dale, Teas-dale, Beth Evans and Klell Case, new class officers for the coming year. Dr. and Mrs. Wilford Olsen and children left Sunday to make their home in Texas. In their honor, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Groesbeck Groes-beck entertained at dinner at their home on Thursday. Other guests included Mrs. Mary J. Finley, Misses May and Bess Finley, Mrs. Lydia Palfreyman. A number of Springville friends were invited to attend the golden gol-den wedding anniversary dinner held in Provo last Sunday afternoon after-noon for Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Houtz, former residents of this city. In addition to friends and relatives present, all of their children including Mrs. G. D. Wood of Helper, Karl G. Houtz of Los Angeles, Calif; Dr. Ray C. Houtz of Buffalo, N. Y., and Glen E. Houtz of Oakland, Calif., were in attendance. Complimentary to Dr. and Mrs. Wilford Olsen, who were visiting visit-ing here from Minneapolis, Minn., en route to Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Fred' Hansen entertained at a dinner at their home on Sunday for relatives of the couple. Book of Mormon club members met Sunday night at t h e home of Mrs. Paul Ostlund. Open forum for-um under the direction of the hostess was based upon chapters 10 and 11 of Third Nephi, and also world problems. The event was in honor of Miss LaRee .West, a bride - of -the near future and retiring class presi-1 presi-1 dent. She' was presented with a ' lovely gift and the evening was spent in social chat and also an interesting lesson on "Birth of Poctiy," was given by Mrs. Martha Mar-tha Harrison.
