Show SANITATION , SURVEY NOW" BEING MADE A public health survey , sponsor-! pj'by the V. S. public health service ser-vice ' and Utah state board of h-alth is being made here, to elim-i'n-iu' all unsanitary conditions, especially outside privies. Warren r Clark, Ulan county sanitation supervisor, under whose direction "the survey is being made, reported report-ed Wednesday. The survey is be-ino be-ino made in pratically every com-rnitiiiiy com-rnitiiiiy in 'he county, and where the cooperation of citizens is secured, se-cured, the work is resulting in ,ery much improved conditions, it is stated. Funds have been allotted allot-ted whereby this work can be car-on car-on and the cost of improve- mcut fixed within the reach of I everyone. There the survey shows unsanitary and unhealthful conditions condi-tions exist, recommendations are made for their improvement. Applicants for the improvements are furnished the material at cost and the labor, free of charge, furnished furn-ished by the WPA. For instance material to build a new privy of the Utah sanitary pit type, approved ap-proved by the U. S. public health service, free from flys odor or rodents, ro-dents, will cost $21 and it would be constructed free of charge the santitation supervisor points cut. Where remodeling is considered, consid-ered, the cost ranges from JS tc J14. Through the efforts of the state and county health officers with the cooperation of city officers a sanitation ordinance was passed by the Springville city council. Monday night, in an effort to eliminate elim-inate any unhealthful conditions in the community. The ordinance is effective April 1. In the mean time however, citizens are urged to cooperative with sanitation of-fcers of-fcers in the state-wide clean-up campaign. |
