Show SPRINGVILLE SOLDIERS ON FURLOUGH Word Is received by Mr. and Mv;s John Blanchard and Mr. and Mrs, P. A. Ostler of Springville that their sons, Roy and Donald, respectively, re-spectively, have been granted two months furloughs and will leave Honolulu for their homes early in , January. j The two boy3 enlisted in the U. S. i army two years ago and have been I stationed at Schofield barracks on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. Being with the largest encampment of soldiers, numbering near 20,000, the boys have had many and varied experiences since leaving their homes. , Both have taken active part in the athletics of their respective re-spective companies and have succeeded suc-ceeded in winning a number of awards for their outstanding work. Vernon Barrett, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Barrett of Springville, who has been stationed with the marines in the city of Managua, Nicaragua, has also been granted leave of absence and will visit his parents here soon. , -He has acted as private secretary to the chaplain of his company for the past two years. ;1 |
