Show MANY COURT CASES LISTED Several criminal cases will come up before t he Fourth district court some time between November Nov-ember 10 and the middle of January, Jan-uary, following the re-setting of the September court calendar next Saturday. Sat-urday. The list to be submitted to the court for re-setting shows seven interesting criminal cases. Albert Nelsen and August Nel-sen Nel-sen will come up on a charge from the town of Orem, a long drawn out case that involves their purported illegal digging of a ditch. Glen Weeter of Provo faces trial because of alleged assault with attempt to do bodily harm, a case which followed an argument and Ray Ander.son will be prosecuted prose-cuted by the state for wilful neglect ne-glect and refusal to provide. Ray Turner of Provo and Ivan Bissell of Springville, face trials on sex charges and H. L. Snyder is up on a robbery charge. Snyder was captured following the attempted at-tempted robbery of a Lehi grocery, groc-ery, his alleged partner, Percy Double, having already been sen-fenced sen-fenced to a term in the state prison by Judge Abe Turner. Snyder was hooked with the crime when he was found several hours after Double's capture in a truck which is said to have had part of the loot from Larsen Brothers Bro-thers grocery. Another trial of especial interest is the case of Provo city versus Alice Goode of Provo. She was tried in the lower court on a charge of assault. It was alleged she assaulted as-saulted Mrs. Iris McArthur, R. F. C. welfare worker, in an argument over relief. A number of civil cases which have attracted considerable public attention are tip before the court also. Among them is the case of Mrs. Viola Beers against the Los Angeles and Salt Lake railroad. Mil Beers seeks damages said to have occurred when the automobile aut-omobile in which she was riding was struck by a train of the company comp-any on New Year's eve last year. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Smith of Pleasant Grove were instantly killed ill Ibe same accident. : |
