Show 'lM IS TOLD Troubles In New York Over j ! Utah Eg Sales To I Produce Good. The move of the Utah Poultry Producer s" Cooperation association to sell Utah eggs direct to large retail chain stores, though it arou.-"d arou.-"d the ne of alleged pobbing profiteers pro-fiteers and gangsters in New York, will eventually bring together two great classes of people, the producer's pro-ducer's and the consumers, and will result in saving for- both. This was the state of William Garr, supervisor of the stat'1 poultry association, at a meeting of Provo poultry raisers held Tuesday Tues-day evening in the city and county building. Greater Profits Seen . The contract for furnishing Utah eggs direct to the Jewish Grocers' association made by Benjamin Brown, director cf markets for tno Utah Poultry association at New-York, New-York, should lesult in an additional profit of several cents per dozen to Utah producers and at the same time save the New York consumers a similar amount. This will be accomplished ac-complished by the elimination of the "jobbers cuts" which in the past have amounted to from five to ten cents per dozen. In addition to the benefits of greater profits to Utah Poult-.v men and a saving to New York consumers, con-sumers, the change in marketing made by Brown will residt- in a very definite and permanent outlet for Utah eggs. Officials of th' poultry association believe that ii is the greatest stride made in cooperative co-operative marketing for' years. The Jewish Grocers' association now embraces 1,500 lai ge retail stores in New York City. If thi.-association's thi.-association's growth continues at the same rate, it would soon be in a position to handle more eggs than Utah produces. |
