Show PRESIDENT DEDICATES HEWCpPEL Imposing' Ward Chapel Built by Springville Second Ward Is Dedicated By President Heber J. Grant, Sunday. Words of praise for the splendid work accomplished in the construction of the Springville Second ward chapel chap-el were given Sunday by President Heber J. Grant, who also offered the dedicatory dedica-tory prayer. One of the largest audiences ever assembled in the Kolob stake was in attendance. The large chapel, the entrance hall which opens into in-to it, and the amusement hall in the rear were crowded with ward members and friends. Buiiders Commended The services were in charge of Bishop Ernest A. Strong, who in his address of welcome expressed his appreciation for the fine cooperation co-operation shown by the ward members and others responsible for the early completion of the magnificent mag-nificent building. President Grant declared that he was amazed that such a building could have been erected at a cost of $46,000, and he commended the architects and contractors on the work accomplished. He was impressed im-pressed with the loyalty of the people peo-ple of the ward in this project and declared that without that same type of loyalty there would have been no church. Speaking on the necessity of constant con-stant diligence on the part of the Latter-day Saints if they would enjoy en-joy spiritual growth, President Grant declared that it is as impossible impos-sible to stand still spiritually as physically. Drawing on his vast experiences, the speaker related many incidents in his own life that had strengthened strength-ened his testimony in the gospel, and called to mind tli at it was 51 years' ago to the day that he had been made president of the Tooel--stake. Ash worth Speaks A financial report was given by Earl B. Sumsion, chairman of the finance committee. Words of appreciation ap-preciation were expressed by President Presi-dent J. E. Bird of Kolob stake. Delightful music was furnished by the ward choir, Jessie Dalton, soloist; Alzada Wilmott, organist, and Helen Fox. Claude S. Ashworth, architect, expressed his appreciation for thu splendid support he had received in his work on the building. The invocation was by Selvoy J. Bayer and the benediction by A. W. Haimer. |
