Show Ten Provo People Figure In Serious Automobile Accidents ( Family ot Parley Dixon Hurt In Collision Near Mid-vale Mid-vale Junction. Four Provo persons and six Salt Lake residents were injured in an automobile accident one-half mile south of Midvale junction on the state highway at 1 a. m Tuesday morning. P. S. Dixon, a local contractor and his family were returning to their home early Tuesday morning from Snlt Lake when their car collided col-lided with a car driven by J. Duke of Salt Lake. Mr. Dixon suffered a fractured left knee, lacerations of the scalp and body bruises Mrs. Etta Dixon, his wife, suffered minor bruises and shock, and Reed Dixon, 19-year-old son, suffered lacerations of the right hand and lacerations. He was rendered unconscious, and Inez Dixon, 16-year-old daughter, suffered from shock. J. Duke driver of the north bound car, Teceivcd a painful cut knee and bruises about the body. Manuel Hansen, 18, also riding in the Duke car, received a severe scalp wound, a deep cut over the left eye and body bruises. Others injured were Esther Palmer, 2t, of Salt Lake, lacerations about the body and scalp; Edna Webb, 16, of Salt Lake. Lee Hansen, a brother of Manuel and Lyman Johnson all of Salt Lake, cuts and bruises Mr. Dixon was brought to thd Aird hospital Tuesday morning, where he is reported to be resting as comfortable as could be expected. expect-ed. Mrs. Dixon and Reed arc confined con-fined in the Salt Lake hospital. Inez returned to her home in Provo Tuesday morning. The Salt Lake -injured were taken to the Salt Lake general hospital. Five-Year-OId Girl, Parents and Grandparents Suffer Suf-fer Injuries. Severe injuries were incurred Monday evening by six persons here when two automobiles crashed at the intersection of Sixth North and First East streets. Little Betty Jane Curtis, 5-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rorp Curtis, 480 South Sixth East street who was riding with her parents and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Curtis, 533 East Second South was the most seriously injured. She suffered fractures of her left arm and her right collarbone and deep cuts about the legs. Wrenched Back Her grandfather, Jack Curtis suffered a badly wrenched back and hip. His wife received deep cuts about the legs and painful bruises about the head and face-Ross face-Ross Curtis, the driver of the car, received a deep cut on the arm which required several stitches to close. Mrs. Ross Curtis was bruised and badly shaken up. The driver of the other car, Frank Hudson of Nephi sustained a deep gash in his arm which bled profusely. Two young women rid- , ing with Hudson escaped with slight bruises, although both cars were overturned. Curtis was travelling north along First East street while Hudson was approaching the Sixth North intersection inter-section in a westerly direction. Both cars were badly damaged. After an investigation, police officers declared that neither of the two drivers was to blame. The injured persons were reported report-ed to be resting easily this morning morn-ing at their home whesc they were taken after being treated at the Aird hospital. . |
