Show When Commerce Rides the Winds I Renewed efforts to fly the Pacific east to west at one hop hi'ing up to thought once more a curious handicap under which lontc-distance air transport operates. The flow of commerce aroun,d the world is always westward; west-ward; hut the prevailing winds are always eastward. It is common knowledge that it is simplicr to fly any ocean from west to east (han vice versa. Va1 the flow of transportation, like the course of empire, takes its way ever westward against the winds. Just what effect this may have, in future years, on aerial aer-ial transportation, we don't know. But that.it will prove a t handicap seems certain. |
