Show 'Jafsie" Ncffoliates For Return of Lindy, Jr. NEW YORK, April 13 (U.R) "Jafsie" claimed today to have "direct contact" with the kidnapers of Col. Charles A. Lindbergh's son. Du. J. F. Condon, aped retired re-tired school principal, the " J a f s i e " of negotiations stranger than thn plot of a. melodrama, melo-drama, declared he had resumed the contact broken last week when the kidnapers after receiving; from h i m SH0 ,000 ra n so m in a B ron x cemetery, failed to deliver the child as agreed. Fear Is Shown Behind his statement, however, appeared to run a strain of fear, -ins.sibly indicative of threats from (lie abductors that further negotiations negotia-tions hinge on a pledge of greater 3ecrecy. "I have never identified them nor said a word against them," Condon vowed after returning home during the night from another of his mysterious mys-terious errands. "I value my life. They value theirs. I know my life wouldn't be worth anything if I said anything against them." Condon was .especially anxious that he not. be followed on his numerous num-erous trips, lest this frustrate his efforts to restore the baby. |
