The Third ward Primary officers j and teachers entertained at a party Friday evening for retiring , officers at the home of Miss Helen j Reynolds. Games and a lunch were , features of the affair with about j twenty guests attending. i Mr. and Ms. Ed Johnson enter-' enter-' tained a number of friends at their home Saturday evening. Cards and lunch were enjoyed. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ludlow, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Hawkins of Benjamin and Earl Whittaker of Garfield. . A talk on "Child Welfare" by Charles Boyer, featured the meeting meet-ing of the Legion auxiliary Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the fire hall, with President Hilda Grant in charge, program numbers included includ-ed a cornet duet, Richard Love-ridge Love-ridge and Newell Weight; reading, Howard McKenzie., harmonica solo, Helen Carnesecca; reading, Dona Salisbury ; vocal solo with guitar accompaniment, Miss Carnesecca. After the program lunch was served by hostesses Melba Pennington, Iris Sanford and Afton Clark. Attractive Attrac-tive decorations were carried out with sweet peas decorating the tables, A number of friends, Wednesday evening, entertained at a weinie roast in Hobble Creek canyon, for Hastings Smith, who will leave soon with his parents to make his home , in Vernal. Miss Fay Averett, Miss Helen Wheeler, Miss Norma Aver- 1 ett, Bert Brown, Hardy Childs, Reed Averett and the guest of honor attended. The Beehive classes of the Second Sec-ond ward M. I. A. entertained in honor of their mothers at the banquet ban-quet hall Tuesday evening. Guests, board and ward officers, and class members present, numbered 59. In the receiving line were Miss Floss Harmer, Miss Alene Mendenhall, Mrs. Cloe Hutchings, Mrs. Nelson Beal and Miss Helen Fox. During the banquet a nicely arranged program pro-gram was given with Marian Miner, chairman. Mrs. Mae Groes-beck Groes-beck gave the address of welcome and introduced Dorothy Barrett as toastmistress. Toasts were given by Hortense Crandall, Mrs. Floyd Miner, Avis Thompson, and Mary Boyer. Helen Carpenter gave a vocal solo; Lula Hatch and Harriett Miner, a duet; Lo:s Hjorth, a piano solo ; Marion Miner, a saxophone solo; Gretchen Greenlie, a reading; the Beehive choruses furnished selections. se-lections. Prayers were offered by Cleon Fox and Harriett Miner. Mrs. Esther Harmer was delightfully delight-fully surprised by the Second ward Primary officers- and teachers at her home Tuesday evening. The occasion was her birthday anniversary. anni-versary. Twenty four guests enjoyed en-joyed an evening of social chat, games and a delicious' lunch. Mrs. Mary L. A. class at a delightful party at her home Tuesday evening. Games preceded a dainty luncheon served by the hostess and class members. Members of the Ladies' Literary club will be guests of Mrs. A. E. Jacobsen at her hume Saturday afternoon. There will be a shoit 'program followed by election of officers with President Minnie Groesbeck in charge. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hoyle and family moved the past week from Salt Lake. Mrs. Hoyle will iiave charge of the Bonneville Lumber yard here. C. Nielson gave a birthday birth-day party Thursday afternoon for her son Oran. Present were James and Dick Sumsion, Helen Brinton, Jay Reed Bird, Maurine and Bobby Martin, Wilna Brown, Phyllis Pal-freyman, Pal-freyman, Earl Peterson, Max Nielson, Niel-son, Mildred Ogden, Martin Reed, i Mrs. Roy Peterson, Mrs. J. C. Peterson, Pet-erson, and Mrs. Marcellus Nielson. Mrs. Nell Weight, Miss Julia Alleman and Miss Jane Alleman were among the teachers of Salt Lake who spent the spring vacation vaca-tion with relatives here. A group of neighbors surprised Mrs. Pearl Sumsion at her home Thursday evening. A delightful time was had with various games and a picnic, lunch.
