Show WORK BEGINS ON HEADHOUSE COST $14,000 Work on the enlargement of the Springville city water system head-house, head-house, at the mouth of Spring Creek canyon is well under way. Mayor John L. Whiting reports. A large crw c men hegan last week, dealing the grounds and excavating excavat-ing for an additional water storage stor-age tank. When completed the tank will measure 112 feet in diameter and have a depth of 16 feet. It will be of circular construction with rc-enf rc-enf v ced concrct e walls, one foot thick and have a water storage c t city of one million gallons. The new unit will cost approximately approxi-mately $14,000. It will he located near the o 1 d wa tor storage tank and t lie city water will then run from the city springs to the city power plant, then to the new tank and the:. cc to the old one. With an increased capacity frrr th? present 20S 000 gallons of water to 1,000,000 piacticaily all of the 1 water from the city springs will 1 be stored, it is stated. The enlargement 4-hus assures an ample supply of water for the city throughout the summer months. With the present water storage system, considerable water overflows over-flows and runs into irrigation ditches, while in mid-summer an emergency would practically consume con-sume thu ai.-)iut nC water st ored in the old tank, it is stated. |
