Show SOCIETY NEVS, Celebrating her birthday, a group of friends surprised Miss Edna Starr Wednesday evening at her home. The crowd motored to Provo to see the play "My Wild Irish Rose," at the Sixth .ward aftar which they returned to the Starr home and were served a delicious chicken supper. In attendance were Miss Ida Hoffman, Fred Kelsey, Miss Esther Mitchell, Darel Moulton, Lucille Collins, Gordon Weight, Miss Anna Crandall, Max Warner, Miss Marie Simkins, Karl Weight, Miss Margaret Bird, Phil Christensen, Helen Bartholomew, Leo Fullmer, Edna Starr and Blaine Thorpe. Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Helen McKenzie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McKenzie of this city to Elmo Verl Jackson of Spanish Fork which took place last Wednesday at Provo. Miss Donna Snelson, daughter of i Ralph Snelson and Doyal Elmer , Hutchings also cf Springville were granted a license to wed last Thursday at the county clerk's office. Reviving an old pastime and one which is gaining popularity in many cities, the Misses Mary Roy-lance, Roy-lance, Ho rle use Crandall, Olive Child, Lucy Child, Elaine Crandall and Virginia Child enjoyed a bicycle pari y Saturday evening, returning to the Childs home for a waffle supper. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Urquhart with their son Robert , attended the giadua"tion exercises of their daughter Esda Lee at the Grinton Memorial chapel of Westminster college, Salt Lake, last Thursday evening. Mis Urquhart has received re-ceived a scholarship from Hastings, Hast-ings, Neb., where she will continue her studies next fall. Miss Cam i lie Wordsworth was the guest of State Auditor and Mrs. Julius C. Andersen in Salt Lake the past week. While there Miss Wordsworth, who recent ly came from Los Angeles, visited the state capitol building, and was 'much impressed im-pressed wit h its beauty. Members of the S. C. C. 4-H club were entertained at. the home of Miss Beth Loveridge last Wednesday Wednes-day evening. A trip to Kel ley's Giove for the near future was planned under the direction of Mrs. Hazel Bird. Miss Zelma Thorpe gave a demonstration of sewing scams. Mrs. Arvii Bird entertained members mem-bers of the Busy Finger club at i her home Thursday afternoon.
