Show BIG CAMPFIRE OF 4-H CLUBS IS SUCCESS Dr. Karl Young of the Brigham Young university , Provo, spoke on Indian life and customs at the annual campfire program of the central district 4-H clubs in Springville Spring-ville last Wednesday evening. Mayor John L. Whiting welcomed the club members and visitors, and spoke briefly on the value of 4-H club club work to boys an girls. Short talks were also made by County Agent Lyman Rich and Anson An-son B. Call. Miss Alice Taffey of Provo gave a reading; the Peppy 4-H Sewing club Springville, a vocal selection; Roy McKenzie, Roe McCurdy, Merrill Gottfredson. Dick Conover, instrumental music; Timothy Tim-othy Marsh, Lewis Smith, Maple-ton Maple-ton .vocal selections; Bert Cherring-ton, Cherring-ton, clarinet solo. Boys 4-H club Springville, stunt. The program was held at the ball park around a huge bonfire made by the club boys. A ball game and lunch were other features of entertainment. en-tertainment. Approximately 300 club members and guests attended including representatives from ! Provo, Pleasant View, Maplcton and Springville. Fred Weight, local club leader, presided during the program. |
