Show Haskell Team J Can Whoop In ! 17 War Paints LAWRENCE, Kan., Nov. 15. War-whoops in 17 tribal tongues can be raised by the 1930 Haskell Indian eleven, one of the strongest grid squads west of the Mississippi river. That many tribes are represented repre-sented on the team. Twenty-three members of the varsity are native Okiahomans. The remainder are recruited from many states in the west and south-, south-, west and some even from Canada, i Tribes represented on the var-! var-! sity roster are Shoshone, Caddo, i Sioux, Winnebago, Cree, Cherokee, Ottawa, Osage, Mission, Pima, ' Hickapoo, Menominee, Delaware, i Or.fida, Quapaw, Chippewa and i Piute. Captain Louis Weller. Haskell's 350-pound halfback, is the Albio i Booth of the Aborigines. |
