Show L. D. S. Centennial. Pageant To Be Shown For Two Weeks SALT LAKE CITY, Apr. 1. Un Definite assurance that the pageant ! "Message of the Ages," featuring the centennial celebration of the founding of the Mormon faith, will be shown each night for two weeks instead of one were given by directors direc-tors of the centennial observance , program today. Extension of time was necessitated, necessitat-ed, it was said, by an overwhelming demand for tickets to the pageant There will be no charge for admission, ad-mission, but all seats will be re-! re-! served and tickets are being dis-j dis-j tributed through stakes. Six thou sand tickets have already been distributed, dis-tributed, and .requests have been made for 60.000 more, church officials offi-cials declared. The pageant, with its cast of GOO and choir of 400, will necessitate an immense stage, which has been constructed in the tabernacle. This stage, extending into the audito-t audito-t rium, reduces the seating capacity one-third, leaving space for only 6.000 spectators. The first showing of the pageant will be staged Sunday night, when the centenial celebration will bo formally opened. The pageant will be broadcast each night over KSL. |
