Show Protest Evictions To Commissioners Protest against eviction from their rented homes were made by several unemployed Utah county persons before the county commissioners commis-sioners Monilay. The protestants were informed by the three commissioners Hilton Robertson, J. W. Gillman and Charles H. White, that the commission com-mission was powerless to aid them in, the payment of rent by law and that the county charity budget was already overdrawn. Intervention with the landlords was the only method left, they said. Francis Grant of Springville was one of the leaders of the group protesting pro-testing eviction. Grant, a former citizen of American Fork, is renting rent-ing one of the cabins of Charles Stone who runs the Stucco auto camp in Springville. Grant protested the serving of eviction papers on his wife and said that he had paid Stone by his work on.the cabins during the winter. win-ter. Stone., on.the other hand, claims Grant still owes him back rent. |
