Show SOCIETY f. President Hannah Mendenhall, Mrs. Uetta Harmer, Mrs. Eva Cran-dall Cran-dall and Mrs. Hannah Clyde of the stake Relief society board Tuesday Tues-day attended a social given by the Thistle ward Relief society for one of their retiring officers. Mrs. Cran-dall Cran-dall gave a review of one of Wagners Wag-ners operas and also furnished two piano selections. Miss Arlene Mendenhall and Mrs. E. J. Oaker entertained a few friends at their home Saturday evening; including Mrs. E. L. Nye of San Francisco, Mrs. H. T. Reynolds Rey-nolds Jr., Mrs. A. G. Johnson, Mrs. J. X. Gardner, Mrs. Anna Mendenhall, Menden-hall, Mrs. Charles Boyer and Miss Velma Mendenhall. Mrs. Lawrence Wheeler who has moved from the Second ward to the Fourth ward was honored with a farewell party Friday evening T. L. Latimer, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofen, assisting hostess. An interesting in-teresting paper on early industries was given by Mrs. Mary J. Finley and Mrs. Eliza Singleton and Mrs. Mary Halls also told or early methods meth-ods of converting the raw material into clothing and other articles. Reports Re-ports r.n the Utah state and county conventions were given by Mrs. Harriot Gougall and Miss Fannie Rowland, respectively. Mrs. T. S. Latimer was appointed chairman of a committee to look up the old linen and silk articles manufactured manufac-tured from home grown materials for the World's fair in Chicago in 1900, and if possible to secure t'nese articles for display in the relic room. An effort will also be made iby the committee to collect other rarearticles, manufactured years ago for The permanent relic room collection. Luncheon was served to ten club members and Mrs. Madge Thorn and Miss Erma Hay-mond Hay-mond special 'guests. and guests were in aitenoance at the meeting. A number of friends happily surprised sur-prised Miss Beatrice Wheeler at her home last Sunday evening the occasion being her birthday. Guests inttuded Miss Blanch Weight, Fred Hanson, Miss Virginia Simkins, Lee Barrett, Miss Marlyn Hall, Walter Prothero, Fred Evans and the guest of honor. I Mrs. Julia Nichols of Riverton has returned to her home after a two-weeks visit with her daughter Mrs. Leo G. Robertson and family fam-ily here. Miss Lylice Bryee spent several days of the past week with friends in Salt Lake. Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Sr., recently returned from a two-monlhs visit in Salt Lake. Mrs. Eliza Thorn has returned from a two-weeks visit with her daughter, Mrs. M. D. Bringhurst and family in Salt Lake. Ava Delma club members were guests Wednesday afternoon of Mrs. Wayne Smith. In progressive bridge Mrs. Carri Tripp won high score prize and Mrs. Camille Taylor Tay-lor the consolation. An attractive given by the officers and teachers of the primary association, in which she has been a teacher. She was presented with a book during the evening as a token of appreciation and friendship , from the officers and teachers, twenty-three of whom were in attendance. Miss Lela Davis of Salt Lake is spending ten days as the guest of Miss Velma Mendenhall.
