Show , SOCIETY ;J; The Seagulls class of the Second ward Primary entertained at a nicely-arranged party at the ward chapel Friday evening. After playing play-ing a numbeY of games, dainty refreshments were served to the following fol-lowing class members: Miss Marion Mar-ion Miner, Miss Harriet Miner, Miss Lois Jordan, Miss Dorothy Barrett. Miss Elsie Madsen, Miss Margaret PieYce, Miss Cleon Fox, Miss Theda Shelch, Miss Viola Singleton, Miss Norma Harrison, and class leaders, Mrs. Bernice Miner and Mrs. Ada Jessee. The American Legion auxiliary of this city will be entertained at the home of Mrs. G. W. Fricl Wednesday Wednes-day evening, March 6. A splendid program will be given and refreshments refresh-ments served. All present and eligible el-igible members are cordially invited to be present. Monday evening, Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Whiting entertained at a nicely arrange'd birthday dinner in compliment compli-ment to their son, Harold. Covers were laid for Mrs. Mont Johnson, .mss Zina Johnson, Mr, and Mrs. Glenn Sumsion and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Miner, and Miss Marie Jensen of Mapleton. After dinner the time was pleasantly spent with social chat and music. In complimc'iit to Howard Thorn who will leave soon to fill a mission mis-sion in England, the ward activv committee entertained at a musical Wednesday evening in the chapel. The Daughters of the PionCers, camps No. 1 and 2, entertained at their annual social Friday evening in the First ward chapel. The affair was given in the form of a dance. Many came attired in period costume, cos-tume, and the party proved a big success in every detail. Mr: and Mrs. J. W. Whiting in company with Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Mendenhall and Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Child of American Fork formed a party Friday evening and motored to Salt Lake to see the show at the Playhouse. Members of the Missionary society so-ciety of the Community church were delightfully entertained Tuesday Tues-day evening at the home' of Mrs. Minnie Dennison. A nicely arranged program was given as follows: talk on "Work Among the Indians," by Mrs. Gossick; an interesting paper on "Korea," was given by Mrs. Peter Forsythe. Devotional period was led by Mrs. W. L. Grooms. In addition to the program given, the following officers were elected for the coming year: president, Mrs. L. M. Gillilan; vice president, Mrs. Peter Forsythe; secretary, Mrs. A. E. Blanchard ; treasurer, Mrs. W. L. Grooms; secretary of over-seas sewing1, Mrs. A. M. Lyall; secretary of literature, Mrs. D. B. Welch; secretary sec-retary of stewardship, Mrs. Frank Blackett; secretary of missionary education, Mrs. George C. Larson; young peoples' advisor, Miss Elizabeth Eliza-beth Gillilan. In conclusion delicious delic-ious refreshme'nts were served by the hostess to about eighteen members mem-bers present. The Gleaner class of the Fourth ward M. I. A. enjoyed a social evening eve-ning after the regular lesson was given Tuesday evening. Light refreshments re-freshments were served. Mrs. J. M. Sumsion and Mi s. Le'o G. Robertson leaders of the class were in charge. About 18 members were present. Members of the Ladies Literary ; club will by entertained Saturday . afternon at the home of Mrs. Evan Jacobsen. Mrs. . C. G. Salisbury 1 will be assisting hostess. Prcf. Christian Jensen of the B. Y. U. will talk on "The Four Great Religions." It will be guest day and each member mem-ber is invitey to come and bring a guest. A social evening was enjoyed by the members of the American Legion Le-gion when they met Wednesday. Ford Crandall presided in the absence ab-sence of Commander Grover Clydi. Mark Trippe was in charge of the entertainment which consisted of boxing bouts. Refreshments were |
