Show GRANT LIBRARY RECEIVING NEW BOOKS DAILY - Tho Holtcr J. Grunt library committee, com-mittee, Iirigham Young university, is in receipt of reprints of scientific articles from several hundred scientific scien-tific societies of Americn and Europe for the Dew library. Business and manufacturing corporations are also being "heard from. Among the corporations which have placed the library on their regular mailing list are the Colorado Fuel and Iron company of Denver ; Mountain Slates Telephone and Telegraph company of Denver ; Bethlehem Steel corporation of Pennsylvania; Chamber of Commerce of the United Slides, Washington, D. C. and the Metropolitan Life Insurance company com-pany of New York, An interesting letter has been received' re-ceived' from D. Carroll Ellmore, treasurer of the American Commerce association, in connection with which he is forwarding five volumes of interstate commerce law to the library. li-brary. The gift is a personal one as these books are published exclusively exclu-sively for the members of the organisation. or-ganisation. Mr. Ellmore, however, was at one time a students and assistant as-sistant teacher at the Brigham Young college of Loan and in that capacity came in close touch with the Latter-day Saint educational system. In connection with the college col-lege basketbnll team he visited l'rovo on several occasions and be- ttine acquainted with some of the l'rovo people, among them the late J. W. M. "Wuilecotton. The following follow-ing is quoted from Mr. Ellmore's lft-iter: lft-iter: "I still retain for the educational educa-tional system in Utah with particular partic-ular reference to the wonderful educational edu-cational facilities that the church offers of-fers to its members and the kind treatment which I received from the professors and students, the highest consideration. I also have some pleasant memories of the Brigham Young university, at least with the st udent body memlcrship. I have also had the1 privilege of meeting iminy of the leading church members mem-bers of Utah and number among my former acquaintances Dr. James E. Talmadge, Senator Smoot, Bishop Nibley and the late David Eccles of ogden, Utah. I wish the Grant library abundant success and extend the most gracious and kindly feeling towurd Young university and students stu-dents in general," |
