Show DEBATING TEAM JOINS STATE ASSOCIATION Nebo District Conflict Opens About April 9; Cotinues One Week The Springville High debating team has joined the Utah State Debating De-bating Association, according to Principal E. K. Knudsen. The local lo-cal teams are working Hard for their first engagement in the Nebo district, which is comprised of Springville, Spanish Fori; and Pay- .-l!l. - - The subject to be discussed this year is, "Resolved: That the immigration immi-gration law of June, 1924, should be amended so ns to permit Japanese on an equal basis with Europeans." Our affirmative team is comprised compris-ed of Miss Mary Waiuwright and Ronald Whiting, while Rulh Smith and Howard Maycock will uphold the negative side of the question. The winners of the Nebo division triangle will be grouped with winners win-ners of other triangles in various other divisions of the state, and the process of elimination will continue until only the honor teams are left It is expected that the first of the series of debates will Uegiiii about April 9, and the series will end April 16. |
