Everybody welcome. . ' With applications for the entry of livestock coming in from all parts of Utah, the second annual Utah County Livestock Show, to be held in Spanish Fork April 7, 8, 9 and 10, promises to be one of the most successful exhibitions of livestock ever seen in this county. In addition to a -large variety of livestock, there will be a display of automobiles and a demonstration of milk machines and milk equipment, equip-ment, according to members of the committee. It is stated that the only Ayerr shire herd of dairy cows and sires in the State of Utah will be a feature fea-ture of this show. There will also be one car load of choice, picked Holstein heifers, both registered and high grade, or purebred shipped ship-ped in for the show nnd for sale. The producers of these animals desire de-sire to show for general advertising purposes the Richmond Holsteiu cattle, which, it is said, in time will prove to he as good as any that can be purchased in Wisconsin-There Wisconsin-There will be exhibited one nnd possibly two cnrloads of fine heifers heif-ers and producing Holstein cows coming from Montana and Wisconsin. Wiscon-sin. These two loads will be made up of registered and purebred or high grades, it is said. These fine Holsteins will be put up for sale after they are judged. Included in the sale will be some fine Jersey cows nnd heifers, both registered and purebred, or high grades. There also will be for sale some grade dairy cows of various breeds, but no grade bulls will he offered for sale. Another feature of the show will be the wonderful show cattle he-longing he-longing to C. F. Potter of Ogden, Leonard Lit-., of Cache comity, will have several shorthorn bulls for show and for sale, and F. J. Thompson Thomp-son of Springville will put a large number of Shorthorn bulls, heifers and steers in the show. These, too, will be offered for sale. Mr. Peterson, Pet-erson, also of Springville, will have a showing of Shorthorn cattle. The committee expects to have at least 4 loads of steers for the show and for sale; a number of individr mil beef of various classes especially especial-ly baby beef, also some feeding stock, a number of fat hogs for show and sale, a few fat lambs for show and sale, and some breeding sheep. The fat stock to be exhibited and sold will be the very choicest that can be obtained, fattened especially es-pecially for show and sale. The main entry in the hog division so far is the Poland China state champions cham-pions of the McBeth Corporation of Payson. Several other herds of the same breed, as well as Berkshlres and other types will be shown. The sheep exhibit, too, promises to be large and interesting and will include in-clude many of the best known breeds, Hnmpshires, Cottswold, Lincoln, Lin-coln, Iinmbouilett and other standard stand-ard breeds. The poultry show, too will be of unusual interest, it is said. Kulon Dixon of Provo, well known poultry poul-try fancier, will act as judge of the poultry. , The entertainment committee is planning .to. keep the visitors in good spirits, according to F. J. Faux chairman. A big boxing match will be staged in the Spanish Fork opera house on the night of April 7, and on the evening of April 9 there will be a banquet and musical prq-grnui, prq-grnui, One of the entertaining features will be a pulling match between two of the' best teams in Utah county. Other features are being planned daily, so that there will not be a dull moment, committee members declare. |
