Show DIPHTHERIA IMMUNIZATION " REPORT MADE BY HEALTH HIT i I The following report of diphtheria immunization has been made by the Utah county health unit, under direction di-rection of Lloyd L. Cullimore, M. D,. and Mrs. E. Becd, R. N. : "Through the State Board of Health, toxin-anti-toxin was purchased pur-chased at the special price of $1.25 per vial of 30 c. c. . 1 "Hedonist Drug No. 1 furnished the alcohol, cotton and needles at a I very low price. "Z. C. M. I. Drug was very prompt in furnishing material. "Utah Power & Light furnished the electric sterilizer without charge. Excellent Co-operation "The faculties of. the different schools and iminy citizens, together with the medical and nursing profession, profes-sion, cooperated in many ways to make the work. a success. "Utah county appropriated one-half one-half the cost of materials. "Xeho and Alpine appropriated the other half in their districts. Utah School District donated the record cards and Provo City and the Utah Stake Relief society each appropriated one-fourth in Provo. "Metropolitan Life Insurance company com-pany furnishing six thousand pieces of literature and several articles in the press. "The different newspapers of the county were very cooperative in publishing articles and announcements. announce-ments. "The Child Health Center committees commit-tees and L. D. S. Relief societies worked hard with the pre-school child. "The latter part of 1920, the Neho school district appropriated funds for the immunization in that district dis-trict hut only 2.2S2 responded. The pre-school child w;:s not included. This year, the county met its appropriation appro-priation and as a result, 2,200 more were inoculated. "Individuals from one to fourteen years were inoculated.- wit lion t charge. Those over fourteen, paid 15 cents for the three inoculations. "Epidemics of contagious diseases made it impossible for many to avail themselves of the ormortuiiit y. Many did not realize the importance of protecting the pre-school child. With these two conditions existing, many of the pro-school children were not inoculated. j "Parents should not deljiy but j should go to their physician and have every child protected.
