Show GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY HOLDS CONVENTION Richard 15. Summcrhays and Mrs. Nellie Taylor of Gcn-, Gcn-, eral Board Present Kichard B. Summcrhays and Mrs. fellie Taylor of the general bonrd the L. D. S. Genealogical society ere visiting members at the annual an-nual convention of the Kolob stake Genealogical society held in the Springville high school Sunday. The first session convened at 9 a. m at which members of the stake presidency, stake officers, high council, bishops and counselors ,-ere in attendance. At this session Mr. Summcrhays emphasized the importance of genealogical work and made an earnest plea for the cooperation of all concerned if the work is to succeed. A business meeting of genealogical society officers and ward workers was held at 10 o'clock. At this session ses-sion Mr. Summcrhays introduced the new family group record and Mrs. Taylor spoke on temple records rec-ords . Mr. Summerhays resumed his theme of family group genealogy at the afternoon session and also stressed the importance of the Latter-day Saints attending their meetings with a reverence for God. Mrs. Taylor spoke on the home in connection with family records. and Miss Nell Sumsion told of her recent trip to the Hill Comorah and of her visits to several genealogical genealogi-cal libraries in the east. Other speakers were President G. R. May-cock, May-cock, Ethel Bird, Julina Smith and I d. F. Crandall. Musical numbers were furnished by the Fox Sisters and Miss Ora i Mc. ! The final session of the conven- Jon was held at 7 o'clock Sunday j evening with chairman, D. F. j Crandall in charge. Mrs. Taylor I reviewed the growth of genealogi-i genealogi-i :al work since 1916, when it w&3 .ransferred from the Relief society ;o the Priesthood. She also told :f the work being accomplished :n the genealogical library in Salt Lake City, which she declared, has he largest genealogical index .-;stenin the world. Prof. Thomas S. Romney of Pro-' u gave an interesting talk on -Records and Record Keeping." He ;o!d those present that one of the neatest responsibilities of the Lat-:er-day Saints is the redemption of '.ie dead, and urged the people to !:ve nearer their God. Musical numbers were furnished iy Miss Inez Jessee, and Catherine Cather-ine Sumsion who sang a duet, and i quartet comprised of J. W.
