A. were guests of the class officers: Margaret Huntington, Hunting-ton, Naomi Dalton and Naomi Blackctt at a Halloween party in the church Tuesday evening. Social So-cial chat and games were enjoyed after which dainty refreshments were served by the hostesses to their leader, Mrs. Hugh Baxter; and the following members of the class: Florence Rothwell, Zella Brown, Melba Ashcraft, Dorotny Bcardall, Blanch Crandall, Leora Peterson. Ina Bird, Louise .ark,: party suggestive of Hallowe'en wis given Monday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harmcr at their home A color scheme in orange was effectively ef-fectively carried out in room decorations dec-orations as well as during the delicious de-licious luncheon served early in the evening. Evelyn Pierce, Olive Madscn and Margaret Had Icy. Mr. and Mrs. Dimmick Huntington, Hunting-ton, entertained at dinner Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jones and daughter Florence of Spanish Fork. A nicely arranged party was given Tuesday evening by the Bluebird Blue-bird class of the Second ward Primary at the home of Cleon Fox. Four primary officers, Mrs. Clifford Crandall, Mrs. Will AUe-nian, AUe-nian, Mrs. Will Harrison and Mrs. L. E. Harrison were present. The evening was spent with games and music after which dainty refreshments refresh-ments were enjoyed by fifteen members of the class present. Mrs. Joseph Grant and children returned to her homo this week after aft-er spending a week with Mrs. Hugh Grant at Midvale, and Mrs. J. W. Grant at Bingham. The officers and teachers of the Fourth ward primary met Wednes- day evening at the home of Mrs. 1 Hattie Blackett, president, to ar-! range for the Halloween party to be given for the ward members ' Saturday evening in the chapel. Mrs. Elliott Bird and family and Mrs. Will Phillips and son spent Saturday as guests of Mrs. Dave Hopla at Mapleton. Miss Mildred Wannacott former-j ly of Springville returned to her home at Soldier Summit atter spending a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George SimpKins here. A prettily arranged party was given Tuesday evening by Miss Norma Harrison and Helen Kelsey at the home of tne lauer. Decorations Decor-ations were carried out in Halloween Hal-loween colors and games also suggestive sug-gestive of Halloween were played. Clyde and three daughters accompanied her husband hus-band back to Tremonton, Utah, where she will spend this week. A nicely arranged dinner party was given Sunday when Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin entertained in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Reynolds and son Bobbie and J. M. Sjodahl of Salt Lake City. The decorations consisted of large baskets bas-kets of autumn flowers. Covers were laid for sixteen including their son and family Mr. and Mrs. Jack Martin, who recently came from Price, also Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Rarr mussen of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Palfreyman spent Tuesday in Salt Lake. Mr. Palfreyman attended the trial of Lonnic Moore, Mrs. Palfreyman visited with her sister Mrs. Joseph Holyoak. Members of the Alumni B. A. C. met Wednesday evening at the homo of Miss Helen Gottfredson. A short business meeting was held during which plans for the coming com-ing years were discussed. At the t conclusion of the meeting general sociability and dainty refreshments were served to ten members. The religion classes of the First ward will entertain at a cleverly arranged and unique Hallowe'en party Friday evening in the church. All are invited to attend, to help the religion class work. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Harmcr entertained en-tertained at dinner Sunday in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Bird and daughters who were visiting visit-ing them from Bingham. The Springville high school teachers and their partners were delightfully entertained at a venison veni-son supper served under the super- i vision of Miss Rose of the Domestic Do-mestic Science department in the new building Wednesday evening. An impromptu program and social cnat were enjoyable features. Hallowe'en Hal-lowe'en colors were carried out and covers were laid for about thirty guests. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Hansen will move to Provo next week where they will make their home indefinitely. indefin-itely. Mrs. A. G. Johnson returned this "week from an enjoyable visit in the east. During the six weeks she was gone she visited Captain aid Mrs. Nye at Washington, D. C, Mrs. Nye was formerly LaPreai Kelsey of this city, Arleen Menden-hall Menden-hall and Mrs. Richard Condie at Boston. She also spent some time in Chicago, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and eastern Canada. An interesting feature of the trip was the visit to the White House and the privilege of shaking hands with the president. presi-dent. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Baxter had as their guests Tuesday and Wednesday Wed-nesday Mrs. Baxter's brother James Housten and family of Price. Members of the family of Mrs. Clara Bate entertained at a family fam-ily dinner and social at her home Sunday, the occasion being the birthday anniversary of the honor guest. Halloween colors and suggestions sug-gestions were effectively carried out during tho dinner. A large birthday cake centered the dining table around which covers were laid for the following children and their families: Mr. and Mrs. S. Furgeson, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bate, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Piper of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. narry Pennington also Mr. Pennington's mother Mrs. Josie Pennington. One of the leading social events of this week was the card party The members of the alumni B. A. C. of this city will meet at the home of Mrs. Blanch G Hales Wcd-' Wcd-' nesday evening November 2. It is requested that all members be present. pres-ent. Dr. and Mrs. Glenn Noill spent Saturday in Salt Lake. Dr. Nelll attended the football game, Mrs. Neill visited her parents. One of the leading social events held hero during the week end was given by members of the Springville Spring-ville club of B. Y. U. students at the home of Gordon Crandall Friday Fri-day evening. The large amusement amuse-ment hall at the home was decorated decor-ated with Hallowe'en colors and suggestions, including shocks of corn and pumpkins. Games also suggestive of Hallowe'en were played. One especially in which all the guests followed the host through a number of vacant lots and rooms, where witches and ghosts were hidden, furnished much fun and amusement. After the games a group picture of all the quests was taken, to be used in the Banyan. Ail wore costumes depicting various Hallowe'en characters. char-acters. Bird and Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Mcndenhall. Members of the Provo District C. E. society pleasantly surprised Miss Louisa Rolfc. who is soon leaving for California. Wednesday evening at Rev. S. Hall Barrett's home. The rooms were beautifully decorated in Hallowe'en colors and autumn colors. Friends from Pay-son. Pay-son. Provo. American Fork and Springville enjoyed games, invitations, invita-tions, and music. Refreshments were served to thirty after which Captain Foxes' daughter from Hollywood. Hol-lywood.
