Show Why Set Such Bad Examples? When Herbert Hoover was in Oregon recently correspondents corre-spondents told how he "sped at 50 miles an hour over the' roads." Al Smith recently dodged collision with a truck "while his car was speeding up Broadway, New York, at 50-miIesi an hour," says another newspaper story. Maybe we're just an old fogy, but it seems to us that even presidential candidates might set a good example to' others by obeying speed saws. The rest of us have to and ! just because a man is a candidate for something we don't1 see why ho should be exempt. We presume anyone he hit would be killed just as dead as if hit l.v a run-of-the-mine motorist. |
