Show DAIRYING IN STATE URGED That Utah county is not surpassed surpass-ed by any other region in the United States as a dairying center is the statement of George Deyo, a shipper of Jersey cattle from Ur-bana, Ur-bana, Ohio, who visited all the important im-portant sections in the country in the interest of better dairying stock. "Utah is the most ideal place in the United States for dairying.' says Mr. Deyo. "Why? Climatic conditions are far better than any other place I know of. Your alfalfa al-falfa hay surpasses that grown in any other part of the country. You have your beet pulp, your mineral the soil in fact, everything that goes to make a cow produce, is here. It is a known fact that cattle thrive better in Utah and grow to be larger cattle than they would in any other place. "T have been shipping Jerseys into Utah county for 20 years, one of my first shipments was to St. George, Utah. Since that time I have shipped 15 cars to Provo and Ogden, and I am convinced tha anyone wishing to go into business these is nothing that v.-ill yield the returns for the money invested, like dairying in Utah. "Dairying, like any other business must be given close attention and study. When I was a milk inspector inspec-tor in Ohio, I used to say to my people, 'You need a dairy paper and you should study it. As no man makes a good Christion unless he studies his Bible, no person can make a good Christian unless he keeps in touch with the trend of the times through the medium of a trade journal.' " |
