Show TAX LEVIES OF COUNTY'S TOWNS LISTED A comparison of tax levies made by the cities and towns of Utah county for the year 1928, as tabu-latpd tabu-latpd by County Auditor Amnion Tuttle Saturday, shows no increases in the case of nine of the taxing units over the 1927 fipure. Two of thc towns show a slight increase, while three municipalities have set lower levies. Provo City shows the largest increase, in-crease, the levy being 14 mills, as compared with 12'i last year. The onlv other town to show an increase is Lehi, whose 1B28 figure is 18 Vi mills, 1927, 18 mills. Thc cities who succeeded in cutting cut-ting the 1927 levies are Springville, dropping from 21 Vi mills in 1927 to 20 5-8 this year; Alpine with a cut of one mill, the levy being 11 mills, compared with 10 mills this year; and Salem a similar cut, from 17 to 16 mills. The following cities returned the same levy ns last year, as follows: American Fork 15. Pleasant Grove 17, Lincoln 7, Orem in. Spanish Fork 19, Payson lfi, Mapleton 4, Santaquin 8, and Goshen 19. Some of the levies submitted above to the county auditors's office of-fice have not yet been approved by lire state board of equalization. |
