Members and guests included in-cluded Misses Jessee Alleman, Jane Alleman, Clara Crandall, Clarice Madsen, Portia Davis, Emily Strong, Helen Alleman, Vernissa Hutchings", Ida Harmer, Helen Clark, Vesta Anderson, Florence Childs, Vivian Harrison, Lucy and Olive Childs, Donna Ashcraft, Ann Stewart, Nora Starr, 'Mary Boyer, Lala a-nd Elda Smith, and Christia Olsen of Fairview. Mrs. Joseph S. Jirvis attended the Ogden stake Relief Society field day at Lagoon Tuesday as special invited guest, having worked in the fourteenth ward as counselor previous prev-ious to moving to Springville. She was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. John S. Boyer, and Miss Margaret Mar-garet Fox. Delightful in every detail was the birthday party given Monday by Mrs. Lawrence Clark, in compliment compli-ment to her daughter Janis, who : Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Harmer and C.i.nily, Miss Ida Harmer, Mr. and -iiri- Tnnn Jttmsnn and Asa John-.mhi John-.mhi 'spent Wednesday at Vivian park. A picnic dinner was an enjoyable en-joyable feature of the day. The Junior girls of the Second ward M. I. A. enjoyed an outing at Frovona beach Monday evening. Boating, bathing and supper at Hansen's Catering company were pleasant diversions of the evennig. Those included in the party were: Misses Helen Fox, Flora Martin, Virginia Simpkins, Pearl Strong, Gena Smith, Mabel Wheeler and Coricne Robertson. Jessee Alje-man Alje-man and Alzada Wilmott were chaperons. j The following Springville friends formed a party Sunday and motored to Vivian park, where a delicious picnic lunch was enjoyed: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Evans and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Simpkins, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Alleman, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Miner and Miss Pearl Strong. Mr. and Mrs. J. K. More than two hundred members of the Springville Fourth ward met Friday afternoon and evening at I Kc-Hy's Gro"0. A large pink birthday cake centered the dining table, around which a dainty lunch was served to twenty-two friends of thc honor guest. Various games directed by the hostess added add-ed to the afternoon's entertainment. A leading social event of the week was the entertainment of thc ladies of the American Legion Auxiliary at the home of Mrs. Elvin Sumsion, Tuesday evening. After a report was given of the recent convention held in Salt Lake, a splendid pro-! gram was enjoyed, as follows: Piano solo. Nell Sumsion; reading, Elsie Sumsion ; guitar solo. Late I summer flowers were used as a centerniope on the dining table. Covers were laid for about ten. yon, in the form of a reunion. iaii games and various races between the married and single men, and the married and single ladies added much to the spirit of the occasion. Games and races for the younger folks were also held. Candy was distributed to all participants in each activity. At B o'clock every one present enjoyed picnic lunch and social chat. The day's program was under thc direction of Alvie Zabriskie, wiio was assisted by a number of ward members. The Presbvt erian community churches of Utah county held a successful outing at Geneva Thursday Thurs-day afternoon. Reverend Harold L. Wilson of Springville was in charge of an especially well arranged arrang-ed program of sports. The remaind-i remaind-i er of the time was spent enjoving I 'he nnstimes of thc resort, bathing 1 boating and swinging. Basket lunches were enjoyed in the evening. eve-ning. Representatives were present from Provo, American Fork, Pay-son, Pay-son, Spanish Fork and Springville. j Prominent among the social events of the week was the pnrty I held Saturday evening at Kellv's I Grove by the employees of the I Steel Plant and their partners, and a few invited guests. In the pnrlv ! evening, a huge bonfire was lighted, ,the guests then circled around the fire and became generally acquaint-j acquaint-j ed. "Weinies" were then roasted . and served with a delicious luncheon. lunch-eon. A short musical program and dancing concluded the evening's entertainment. en-tertainment. More than one hundred hun-dred employees and their partners enjoyed the delightful affair.
