Phone 14R One of the leading and most entertaining en-tertaining affairs of the early week wns the Christmas party given by Miss Josephine Sanford at the home of her grandmother Mrs. I Eliza Thorn for members of the Alumni B. A. C. Monday evening. I Elaborate and pretty Christmas ' decorations including a Christmas j tieo decorated the entertaining j rooms. During the evening games conducted by Mrs. Blanch G. Hales were enjoyed ; also Christmas Christ-mas gifts were drawn. Mrs. Bessie Lund formerly Miss Bessie Wanna-cott Wanna-cott also a former member of the Boosters club sent her gift and best wishes to the girls from Sterling, Ster-ling, Colo. Miss Mary Wainwright now filling a mission for the L. D. S. church at Phoenix, Ariz., sent greetings to the club. At the conclusion con-clusion of the party delicious refreshments re-freshments were served to the following fol-lowing members: Vera Packard, Virginia Packard, Grace Allan, Blanch G. Hales, Helen Gottfred-son, Gottfred-son, Florence Daley, Carrie Tripp, Wcaltha Mendenhall, Mildred Hoffman, Hoff-man, Marie Jensen, Margaret Minor, Gwen Cutler, Helen Hughes. Members who were too far away to attend were' Josephine Meneray, Yt ra Chader, Bessie Lund, and Mary Wainwright. Those who assisted as-sisted the hostess in serving were J Blanch G. Hales, Gwcn Cutler and ! Virginia Packard. I Mrs. Leona G. Clark of Cedar : City is at the home of her mother Mrs. Erma Gudmundsen where she will spend the winter. Springville with Mrs. Robison's parents Mr. and Mrs. John Dougall and in Provo with Dr. and Mrs. Arnold E. Robison. The Trail Builder's class of the Fcurth ward Primary were entertained enter-tained at a Christmas party Wednesday Wed-nesday evening by leaders Mrs. Joseph Allan and Mrs. William H. Bi own. A program consisting of Christmas songs, stories and readings read-ings was given. Oarnes were also enjoyed. At 9 o'clock dainty refreshments re-freshments were served to the following fol-lowing members: Reginald Oakley, Oran Lambson, George Coombs, Loland Joseph, Lorain Allan, Blane Clyde, Ted Wheeler, Blaine Wheel- er, Lee Gale, Ralph Cherrington, Jim Miller. j Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hoskins of Santa Barbara are spending the Christmas holidays with Mrs. Hoskins mother, Mrs. Fred Smith of this city. The members of the local firemen's fire-men's association entertained at an informal affair Wednesday evening eve-ning at the station in compliment to Will Grooms former secretary and treasurer of the association and who is leaving soon to make his home in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Brown and son Bert left Friday to spend the I holidays with their daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hoyle. They also attended the funeral services ser-vices of Henry Meneray held Sat-ui Sat-ui day noon at the Sam Taylor Funeral home. Pretty in every detail was the Christmas party given by Miss Carroll Car-roll Bird at her home. Christmas colors and motifs were used in the decorative scheme. A ' beautiful basket of red sweet peas centered the dinning table on which dinner was served early in the evening. At the conclusion of dinner social chat and games were enjoyed, and an exchange of gifts took place. Those who were present at the delightful de-lightful affair were: Mrs. Stephen Deal, Mrs. Merrill Eldridge, Mrs. Hazel Christensen, Miss Catherine R. Dougall, Mrs. Nelson Beal, Miss Ivy Richards, Miss Lenna Thurb-er, Thurb-er, Mrs. Ike John and Mrs. Frank Reynolds of Provo, Mrs. Bess Mendenhall, Miss Mary Bird and Mrs. Ercel Holt. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Day left last week for their home in Elmo, Utah, ail or spending a short time with relatives here. They expect to celebrate cele-brate their golden wedding December De-cember 29, after which they will return to Springville to spend the winter months. A Christmas party of interest was given Tuesday evening by the girls of the First ward junior class ;it the hoiaft of Miss Ina Bird. Christmas decorations in colors of icd and green were arranged about the entertaining rooms. Games, music and delicious refreshments were among (he pleasant features of the evening. Those present were leader, Mrs. Hugh Baxter, Margaret Huntington, Rhoda HatfieicT, Margaret Marg-aret Had ley, Leora Peterson, Dorothy Dor-othy Beardall, Florence Rothwell, Melba Ashcraft, Zella Brown, Fay Reynolds, Faunetta Peterson, Olive Madsen, Thelma Crandall and the hostess Miss Ina Bird. Among the delightful Christmas parties of the week was the one given Friday evening when Mrs. Hugh Baxter entertained the members mem-bers of the Social Twelve club at hex home. Christmas bells and other Christmas emblems prettily decorated the entertaining room.-:, also a large Christmas tree stood in one corner. A delicious luncheon was served at three small tables in the early evening, after which piogressive bridge was played, Mrs. Lewis Clegg winning high score favor. Christmas gifts were then exchanged among the following members and guests Mrs. G. D. Kennedy, Mrs. Lee Sumsion, Mrs. Bert Rowland, Mrs. Lewis Clegg, Mrs. George Crandall, Mrs. Philda Finley, Mrs. Harry Pennington, Mrs. Floyd Harmer, Mrs. Norris Binks, Mrs. Marcellus Neilson, Mrs. William H. Miss Bessie Southerland, who is living in Salt Lake City, spent the Christmas holidays with her parents par-ents Mr. and Mrs. George Southerland South-erland of this city. A delightful Christmas party was given Friday evening at the home of Misses Olive and Lucy Childs by the girls of the Second ward Gleaner class. Christmas emblems em-blems and motiffs were used in the decorative scheme. Various gamer furnished the evenings entertain ment, with delicious refreshment? served at the conclusion of thr party. Miss Mildred Anderson who is attending Rowland Hall school in Salt Lake is spending the Christmas Christ-mas holidays with her parents Dr. and Mrs. George Anderson. The members of the S. T. club with their partners will entertain at a holiday party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pennington Ftiday evening. Luncheon will be served at 8 o'cIock and cards will be the feature of entertainment.
