Show UTAH COUNTY MAN ACCEPTS U.AX. OFFER Charles J. Sorensort Resigns As Agricultural Inspector Of Utah County Charles 3. Sorenson, for -the past four years district agricultural inspector in-spector of Vtiiltgounty, has tendered ten-dered hla resignation to the board of county commissioners to accept a position m the jexperlment station of the Utah Agricultural college at Logan. The resignation asks that he be relieved of his duties here October 31. The proffer from the state school come to Mr. Sorenson as a distinct surprise "and offers exceptional opportunities op-portunities in a line of work for which he is especially adapted that of entomology. Mr. Sorenson states that one of the first phases of the new work in which he will engage will be the study of the chalcis fly, an insect, it is said, which destroys $200,000 worths of alfalfa seed in Utah annually. an-nually. , Possessed with a congeniality that has a wholesome effect upon every one with whom he comes in contact, and conscientious in his labors in this comity. Mr. Sorenson will be keenly missed by the farmers and fruitgrowers of this section; , His splendid effors in pest control and the educational programs he has put over in the various agricultural activities ac-tivities of the county have been of .Inestimable value. His timely advice ad-vice will be missed by those with whom he was associated. : It mainly due to the untiring efforts ef-forts of Mr. Sorenson that the last Utah county fair was such a pronounced pro-nounced success. Mr. Sorenson expressed his regret at leavnig Provo and Utah county,, and were it not for the exceptional opportunities his now position offers of-fers and the services he can render the state at the school, he would not think of leaving this field. Mr. Sorenson hns a host of friends in Utah county who will regret to learn of his leaving, but aid will wish him well in his new field. While several men nave been mentioned men-tioned as successors to Mr. Sorensoji , none has yet been recommended to the members of the board of county commissioners .by the extension exten-sion department of the Utah Agricultural Agri-cultural colrege. |
