Show SPRINGVILLE PIONEER DIES ATOLD AGE Funeral Services to Be Held Friday at Springville Second Ward. Elial Strong Curtis, Utah pioneer and Indian war veteran, SH. died nt his home in the Springville- Second ward Tuesday morning of Ailments incident to old age. He had been in bad health since suffering a stroke about a month ago. He was born Iu Tiego county, Pa., April 22, 18-12, nn;i came to Utah with his parents in 18.T0. He moved to Springville in 1851, where he had resided since. In IfvHS he was called to Sanpete county to help protect the people from the Indians. He remained there two years and then returned to his home in Springville. , In the early sixties ho was sent by Brig-bam Brig-bam Young td the Missouri river after Immigrants. Surviving him fire his widow, Mrs. Mary L. Curtis; one son, Elial D. Curtis of Springville and . one daughter, Mrs. Almire Alleiunn of Provo and the following- half brothers and sisters; John Curtis of Richfield, Enos Curtis of Salinn, Alfred Curtis of Aurora, Wallace Curtis of Green River, Asel Curt Is of Cedar City, Mrs. Ozias Harward of Aurora, Mrs. Armenta Murphy of Salina, Mrs. Lillian Anderson of : Salina and Mrs. Polley Stephens of Aurora. Funeral services will be held at the Springville Second ward eh n pel Friday at 2 p. m., with Bishop Win. Wainw:right in charge.
