Show I Sr RING VILLE NEWS. , The Springville Bakery has just completed some remodeling. The building has been enlarged and completely com-pletely renovated. John S. Groesbeck has iust com- plcted the building of an additional 39 feet in length to the floor space of his building on Main street now occupied bv the Wellworth Stores Co. The unveiling of the prize picture at the Springville high school national na-tional art exhibit for which .$500 will be given as the purchase price, will take place at the high school auditorium next Friday morning May 2, at 10'o'clock a. m. All patrons pa-trons and citizens are invited to be present. The ladies of the Service Star Legion of Springville, will give a tea for the benefit of the Memorial monument at the home of Mrs, Jennie Jen-nie Starr, Thursday May 1, nt 2 p. m. A splendid program will be given in connection with a one act play entitled "The Playgoers," under un-der the direction of Miss Maud Settle. Refreshments admission 25c. We wish to thank the Third ward primary association for their contribution con-tribution of $5 to the memorial monument. . Service Star Legion. A general invitation is extended to all ladies in Springville to attend the tea and entertainment to be given at the home of Mrs. Jennie : Starr, Thursday May 1, at 2 p. m., j by the Service Star Legion. Following are the contributions made by the various organizations toward the fund to be used in paying pay-ing for the erection of the monument monu-ment contributed by 9. E. Dallin as memorial to the Springville and Mapleton boys who lost their lives in the late world war; Springville centrnl committee of the M. I. A. $100; Springville former city council coun-cil $100; Ogden Kiwanis club $13.33; Washington school $25; Springville First ward primary $5 ; Springville Third ward primary $5 ; Alpta Beta club $12; American Legion Le-gion $9.55! Sons and Daughters of the Indinn War Veterans and Pioneers Pio-neers $50; S. T. club $15: Daughters Daugh-ters of the Pioneers $38 ; Home Culture Cul-ture club $25. The Springville high school will be represented by about 30 athletes at the 14th annal invitation track meet and relay carnival to be held at Provo on the B. Y. V. campus Saturday afternoon, April 20. A duel track meet Is scheduled to take place on the Springville high school campus, Friday May 2, between be-tween Provo and Springville high schools. Wednesday April 30, is "S" day at the Springville high school. The awards to the honor men will take place in the high school auditorium at 1 p. ni. anil the inforclass track and field meet will follow on the campus nt nhout 2 p. in. After the track meet there will he a baseball gnine between the high school f;io-ul!y f;io-ul!y and the Sprinirvillo business men, also a half mile relay race between tlie faculty and business men. |
