Show EUREKA MINER IS KILLED IN AUTOWRECK; Jake Nylund Is Pinned Under-! neath Steering; AVheel of Overturned Automobile. While en route from Eureka to Salt Lake City Friday afternoon in an automobile, Jake Nylund, of Eureka was instantly killed when j the auto overturned as it left the! road. Two companions, Andrew j Anderson and Alhert Olsen, were 1 bruised and cut about the faee. I The injured were taken to the Community hospital at American Fork where a deep cut above Anderson's An-derson's eve was treated by Dr. O. i H. Mabey of Lehi. j "With the exception of a few ; bruises and the shock, Olsen was ; uninjured. .According to the story told by ! Olsen and Anderson to Sheriff J. D. Boyd and Deputy B. F. Roper, who investigated the accident, the Eureka Eure-ka men, all of whom have been employed em-ployed in the mines in the Tintic district, were on their way to Salt Lake. "When they were about three ; miles south of Pelican point, the car left the road and overturned, pinning pin-ning the driver beneath the steering wheel and Anderson under tlie seat. Aid was secured by Olsen after he had crawled from under the car and walked more than a mile and a I half to a ranch. j The body of the dead man was j taken to the Malnn undertaking establishment in Lehi. Nylund has lived in Eureka for several years. He leaves a wife and four children. Whether something went wrong with the car or whether Nylund lost control of the same could not be determined by Sheriff Boyd. The injured men claim that Nylund was anxious to reach Salt Lake City before dark and was therefore driving driv-ing rapidly. At the place of the accident the roads are rather rough, according to Sheriff Boyd. Anderson and Olsen will be able to be back to their work again in a few days, according to reports from' the hospital. |
