Show Page Ten THE SPRINGVILLE (UTAH) HERALD December 12, Social rcippenincS Springville man takes bride in church ceremony at Ferran Roger Dean Killpack of this city, claimed Miss Sandra Jane Berensen as his bride in an im-pressive ceremony Saturday, November 23, in the Ferran LDS Ward Chapel, with Bishop Gale Thomas officiating. Miss Berensen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton N. Ber-ensen of Ferron, and Roger is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean W. Killpack of Springville. The bride was beautiful in a floor-lengt- h gown of white net and rows of lace. A crown of pearls and vivid autumn flow-ers released her veil of illusion. She carried a bridal bouquet of carnations and mums in fall colors. ' Miss Dianne Pettey was the maid of honor with Judy Ben-lin- g, Cheri Binks, Joyce Ed-wards and Connie Stilson, bridesmaids. Their dresses were street-lengt- h and each a different autumn color with a corsage of mums in shades of rust and yellow. Ted Christensen acted as best man assisted by Bruce Berensen, brother of the bride Parents of the bride and gTOom were also in the receiving line Flower girls were petite Lau-rel Berensen and Kollynne and Kollette Killpack who carried small baskets of flowers. Miss Vickie Wood was in charge of the bride book while Celia Dugmore was in charge of gifts. Ushers were Scott and Don Killpack and David Zwahlen. Linda Young will be wed to Max Bartholomew this month The holiday season will be a festive one for Miss Linda Young and Max A. Bartholomew, whose engagement and wedding plans are announced this week. They will be mar-ried December 27 in the Logan LDS Temple and a recep-tion the same evening in the Mapleton Ward Cultural Hall is being planned in their honor. The bride-ele- ct is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Young of Lander, Wyoming, formerly of Mapleton. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bartholomew of Mapleton are parents of the groom-to-b- e. Both are graduates of Springville High School and LDS Seminary. Miss Young is a senior at the College of Southern Utah, Cedar City, majoring in education. Mr. Bartholomew has filled an LDS mission in the Northern States and attended USU, Logan, one year. They plan to make their home at Cedar City and con-tinue their education at CSU. UTAM ! 1 I Open til 9 p.m. Monday through Friday j Club hears talks by foreign students A panel of foreign students from BYU, accompanied by Dr. Ariel Ballif, entertained members of the Cultural Arts Club Wednesday evening with stories of their country, forms of government and customs of their people. They came from Iran, Pakistan and Brazil. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Reed Holdaway with club president, Mrs. George Pehrson in charge. Mrs. George Wright read the club collect. Plans were announced for the club's Christmas party to be December 18, at the home of Mrs. Norman Parker. Lunch concluded the meet-ing served by the hostess. Pari Pasu Club hears fine program Norma Nielson was hostess Thursday evening to members if the Pari Passu Club with President Marie Johnson con-ducting. She also led in the pledge to the flag. The program featured Maur-ra- y Payne in a talk on the In-dian Placement program and he added interest to his re-marks by showing colored slides of a Navajo family. He explained that the children are not take from their homes but invited to come to live with an LDS family and to gain a more formal education. The ages are eight to 18 years. The club announced the Christmas party to be Decem-ber 19, at the home of Erma Peay. The club collect was read by Evelyn Wolsey and Yvonne Johnson reported on the Leg-slati- Council meeting. The hostess served lunch at the close of the program. Christmas candy, ideas demonstrated Aureole Club members were guests of Mrs. Lucille John-son at her home Wednesday evening of last week with Mrs. Fay Oldroyd assisting hostess. Pres. Oldroyd also presided. The group enjoyed a demon-stration of candy making by Mrs. Johnson who also served a sample to each guest. There were also a number of pretty Christmas ideas exchanged. It was decided to hold the annual Christmas party Dec. 18, in the form of a dinner at the Siesta Village in Spring-ville. Luncheon was served by the hostess at the close of the meeting to members nnd Mrs. Sharon G. Johnson, a special guest. You can tell when you are on the right road its up-grade. |
